Abstract

Global digital development and transformation is already happening on all continents, passively or actively shaping our lives. The same can be said for the latest generations. From a very young age, people are socialised in a digital society that is becoming completely natural for them. It is the same in architecture and in the construction industry. The technological advances that enable us to sense and perceive our architectural spaces in a digital, virtual way not only make our work much easier, but also help us to monitor the building's future life cycle. The cutting-edge technologies of the AEC/FM (Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Facilities Management) sector require the highest level of digitalisation of architecture and construction. It is important to realise that although these modern solutions may seem costly and time- consuming at first, they pay for themselves in the long term over the life cycles of the building and provide environmentally friendly solutions with conscious design.
