In these days the 30% of emission of harmful substances and the third of waste production is connected to the construction industry. Today, there is still no good solution for recycling most of our building materials. Surprisingly, this waste includes soil excavated from construction sites. The rediscovery of loam would be an important milestone, as it is an environmentally friendly building material that can be reused in countless ways and it is waste-free. In my research, I tried to find answers to the most significant barriers that make the use of adobe, especially of rammed earth walls, impossible or difficult, and whether there is a reasonable solution to the problems associated with its use, in a way that would be compatible with today’s building trends. The study focused on the water load and erosion of the facade of the vertical adobe walls.
