The integration of modern technologies into
the construction industry can bring significant benefits in the areas of design, construction, accident prevention and education. The UP FEIT BIM Skills Lab research group is also exploring the possibilities of building information modelling (BIM) and virtual reality (VR) among the digital technologies, which can open new dimensions
for construction professionals. The aim of this research is to explore how BIM models and VR technology can be used in trainings supporting accident prevention in the construction industry, what benefits it can bring to experts, and whether such a form of education can be more effective than the knowledge acquired through traditional forms of education. The research is intended
to support the spread of digitalisation in the construction industry, which will help to establish the basis for future BIM and VR research.
