The relationship between humans and nature has been close since ancient times; however, industrialization and urbanization have disrupted this harmony, turning it into a hierarchy of dominance. The article explores the paths to reconnect and examines the roles of architecture and landscape architecture in this process. Initially, architecture worked with natural materials, respecting the environment, but the comfort-focused perspective of Western culture neglected natural harmony. Sustainable solutions require an approach that emphasizes respect for, integration with, and preservation of nature’s values. Examples, such as the Solar Decathlon competition projects and some domestic buildings, demonstrate how harmony between built and natural environments can be achieved. The goal of architecture is not to dominate but to adapt and highlight natural assets. This requires a complex, systemic approach, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the conscious shaping of clients’ perspectives.
